INTRODUCTION
At inception, the head of Tradoc Finance was referred to as the Assistant Director Finance And Accounts (ADAFA). The ADAFA was responsible to the General Officer Commanding (GOC). He advices the GOC on all financial matters, receives and disburses all funds accrued to the Division.
The ADAFA was in charge of Tradoc Finance, thereafter, the head ... of the Division Finance was changed to Staff Officer Grade 1 Finance (SO1 Finance). The name SO1 Finance was changed to Staff Officer Grade 1 G8 Cell (SO1 G8), which subsequently was changed to Assistant Director Finance and Accounts (ADFA). However, with the implementation of the Continental General Staff System (CGSS) by the corps in 2008, the name was changed to Commander Tradoc Finance and Accounts (CTFA). This is the appointment of the head of Tradoc Finance till date. The chronology shows the various ADAFA, SO1 Finance, SO 1 G8, ADFA’s and Commanders’ of Tradoc Finance from inception till date.
HISTORICAL DEVELOPMENT
It was established during the civil war. It is charged with the responsibility of securing its Area of Responsibility (AOR) covering the North Western flank of Nigeria and also ensuring that the borders located in its AOR are secured. The division is a mechanized infantry with affiliated combat support and combat service support units. This office has been participating actively ... in all Tradoc’s training exercises/sporting activities and other activities within Tradoc AOR. The office has been able to effectively and promptly meet up with the requirements of the NA in the implementation of e-payment.
The history of Tradoc Finance is closely related to the history of Tradoc Minna, Nigerian Army which established its Headquarters at Minna where it is up to date. Tradoc Finance came to effect therefore, with the formation of Tradoc Minna, Nigerian Army.
