Staff Sergeant (Ssgt) Ikechukwu Igwala, a distinguished and decorated soldier, assumed the role of the Chief Clerk at the Nigerian Army School of Finance and Administration, Apapa in May 2023. Born on 28 May 1976, he is a native of Ezionum, Ukuani Local Government Area in Delta State.

Ssgt Igwala's military journey has been marked by remarkable achievements and leadership roles within various units and formations.
His journey began when he passed out from the Nigerian Army Depot as a member of 45 RRI. His dedication and skills were recognized as he passed out as a Recruit into the Nigerian Army. Over the years, he has accumulated extensive experience in diverse positions, serving across multiple divisions.

Throughout my dedicated service, I have had the privilege of ascending through various ranks, marking significant milestones in my military career:

• Private (Pte) to Lance Corporal (LCpl) - 2006.
• Lance Corporal (LCpl) to Corporal (Cpl) - 2011.
• Corporal (Cpl) to Sergeant (Sgt) - 2015.
• Sergeant (Sgt) to Staff Sergeant (SSgt) - 2020.

These promotions reflect not only my commitment to excellence but also the trust and confidence placed in me by .... superiors. Each elevation in rank has come with new responsibilities, reinforcing my dedication to the values and objectives of our esteemed institution.

Throughout his distinguished military career, Ssgt Igwala has demonstrated exceptional skills. Notable appointments include his roles as:

• PT Instructor Depot NA -1997 to 1999
• A Clerk in AHQ Gar - 1999 to 2001
• Clerk HQ 81 Div - 2001 to 2006
• Clerk in HQ NAIC Fin - 2006 to 2018
• NASFA as Admin staff/Instructor - 2018 to 2023
• Chief Clerk NASFA - 2023 to Date

Ssgt Igwala's educational journey showcases his commitment to continuous learning. In addition to his Higher National Diploma in Office Technology and Management, he holds a Bachelors of Arts Degree in History and International Relation.

To enhance his military prowess, Ssgt Igawla has successfully completed a range of Military Courses. These include the Clerk General Duties Courses B3, B2 and B1 between 2017 and 2019, Finance Clerk Courses A1, A2 and A3 in 2019 and the French Basic Course in 2021.

Furthermore, Ssgt Igwala has demonstrated his commitment to professional growth through extensive training.
Beyond his outstanding military career, Ssgt Igwala finds fulfillment in his personal life as well. His hobbies include writing, reading and watching football. He is happily married and a proud parent, rounding out his profile as a devoted family man.
